The Department of Sociology at Venerable Uktara Bethany (VU Bethany) College was established in 2014 in Manmow, Namsai District, Arunachal Pradesh. The department is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University and functions in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Its primary aim is to provide students with a deep and critical understanding of society, culture, and various social processes.

The department’s mission is to foster analytical thinking, social sensitivity, and research-oriented learning among students, enabling them to understand and address emerging social issues.
